Outsider art inside the Gallery (designed by owner)
I'm a private dealer in Outsider and Artbrut Art at Beverly Kaye Gallery and have over 400 images and supporting text on-line. The actual gallery is in rural Woodbridge, CT, six miles up the road from Yale, and is open by appointment. The gallery, an extension to my home, took two maddening years from my initial drawings to completion. Here's a peek at one of the walls supporting my interest in American Indian pottery, basketry and sculpture. The pieces I have chosen to represent are top examples from each of my artists, all of whom have been placed in private as well as museum collections. During the year I deal mainly with works on paper, canvas and board, but in June I hold the annual Sculpture in the Garden show which dresses the property in a dazzling display of recycled metal, stone, and wood, transformed into giant sunflowers, dancers, musicians, horses, robots, dragonflies, muffler men and garden whimsies.
The gallery has been awarded as a Forbes Magazine "Best of the Web", and "Incredible Art Site of the Week" for months running!
The black floors still look stunning after 6 years, probably because I kick off my shoes the minute I enter the door! If you click on the image the photo gets larger and easier to peruse.

looks lovely! love the shelves
ps the link to your artbrut gallery doesn't work (i see it has blogger art brut in it when i click it)
Thank you for your compliment! I wanted the shelves to resemble the Pueblo Indian step design, which represents thunderclouds. It borders the hornos (ovens), the walls surrounding all their churches and graveyards, and is prevalent on the pottery and basketry as well. And I really appreciate your help in pointing out the faulty link!
BTW I strongly suggest readers click on to the first comment by "self-taught artist" and see the magical clocks this clever woman makes. She uses recycled materials in very ingenious ways and someday I will claim one for myself!
Beverly, I love your gallery and the floors look great. You did a nice job bringing everything together.
Thank you for your compliment! As a former biker's wife you might have noticed three small ones lined up in front of the bookcase. I have another 3/4 life sized bike made entirely of clay, sitting in the living room. That's the closest I've ever gotten to the open road.
What a wonderful space (love those black floors). I live in northeastern CT so I'll have to make a trip down to see these beautiful works in person. Thanks for replying to my quiz as well!
What a beautiful space!
I love Frank Bentley's work...thanks for sharing those wonderful, colorful pieces.
Thank you Linda. I've lost touch with Frank, as his e-mail no longer is valid. I hope he's still out there painting these lovely creations. and I regret not being able to afford one while we were in touch. They were over $1300 about 10 years ago, when the dollar still had good value abroad. Sigh.......
What a beautiful gallery. And an interesting blog to browse. Thanks for stopping by recently... I've enjoyed visiting you!
WOW - I've often dreamed of my work one day being showed in a place asbeautiful as this. That dreams seems closer and closer now. Thank You so much for what you do for artists like me. Nobodys all over believ in themselves when somebody like you cares. - TMNK
